Doc's Boxes is a small business owned and operated by a retired couple in Mesa, Arizona. We have never been too interested in doing craft shows to sell our goods so we use internet stores as our outlets. We currently have two such stores with one more being designed:

Doc's Boxes

The Dusty Fox

Playroom Gifts (future site)

We handcraft everything we sell at all of these sites (except for some things like velvet sleeves, extra pen tips, etc). We buy fine domestic and exotic woods from a number of sources and then we craft that wood into quality gifts and home decor. We have attractive and unusual gifts for everyone on your gift list.

There are several excellent artisans creating superb wood boxes, but in a fairly expensive price range, i.e., $300 to $500 and even higher. And don't get us wrong: their work is worth that price! You can check the section headed "Our Competitors" on the links page to find a couple of these folk. There are also "wood" boxes available at WalMart that are very affordable, but are of questionable quality and far from unique as they are mass produced in China, Taiwan or similar places.

At Doc's Boxes, though, we have created our product line to fill a niche between these extremes; one we have defined as "affordable fine quality". We design our boxes and build them one at a time, even the simple pencil boxes. We make them from the finest woods, and we maintain the highest quality standards compatible with our pricing.

Some items at Doc's Boxes are shown as available for instant shipment and will usually be mailed within 24 hours of our receiving the order. Most of our boxes, however, are built to order and will normally require about three weeks to complete and mail. Commission pieces may require months to complete depending upon the season.
